Great web site and stories. I am not native american but think if native americans and indigenous people around the world join forces with most of us that want to protect our environment we can’t lose and indigenous people will and are leading the way.

we are waiting in the back ground, our hearts and minds are with you all…………we will succeed !

    The Peoples World.
When we come together as one,
and realise what is being done.
We will turn this world around,
turn it, turn it, the way it should be turning.
We will stand this system on its head,
because the way it stands now, is the way only to hell. At the head of our pyramid , stand, natives, spiritualists and specialists.

We`ll do away with politicians and their friends at the banks.
Do away with the corruption, the profit and the greed.
Stop the economy growth, that creates jobs just for profits.
Jobs that enslave us and destroy health and our home.

Give back the money to the people it serves,
and they`ll work for the good of mankind, not for profit, not for self.
They`ll care for all creatures and plant life alike.
    Give them purposeful jobs,
to put back in the earth what`s been extracted or destroyed.
Extracted and destroyed for the sake of a dollar, a dollar or more.

Jobs that make our hearts beat, beat like a drum,
makes our souls smile with joy, as we come together as one.
Combined together in the elements, the elements of life.
    Earth, fire, water and air.
Alive in us all, from the beasts to the plants to mankind.

No more senseless jobs as slaves for profits.
No more stress that keeps us imprisoned without bars.
Feed us, house us, keep us warm in winter,
and your trust will be rewarded, with love, ten fold over or more.

No more wars, no more armies,
no more weapons, no more blood.
Do away with your politicians, your kings and your queens.
Lock away your bankers and corporations corrupt.

I also meant to share that I am of Cherokee/Choctaw Heritage and was blessed to have been born and raised in these Ozarks.
  • commented 2015-03-07 10:57:50 -0800
I live in the Ozarks in Southeast Missouri that is surrounded by natural, spring fed rivers: The Current River, The Jacksfork and the 11 Point. There are many natural springs that feed into these rivers…Big Spring, Alley Spring, Round Spring..there are many more small springs. This land is a sacred jewel and the generations of people who are from here know how precious the land and the water is. In the past The Park service has taken land from the farmers, forced them off their homes and claimed the land for the government. The Park Service also makes and enforces regulations on how we the people are allowed to use the land and the water. I am proud to join Idle No More and be part of a “UNITED VOICE” I look forward to keeping in communication with the movement and helping to “protect the sovereignty of our people, tghe watger and the land.” I look forward the “Resurgence of Nationhood.”

The vision projected, is a vision of hardship. Only the strong will make decisions that can bend the future to it’s will. http://www.spilleautomatergratis.org/

Now we have the internet, we should use it for the cause of the earth. But sometimes we also need to physically demonstrate our commitment to our cause. Peacefully that is. http://www.indigenous-rainforest-keepers.com/

I agree revolution and peaceful are not usually aligned. If we join revolution (dramatic – wide reaching change in conditions & attitudes) with peaceful (coexistence – amiable – benevolent – yielding) then heart and spirit co create new beginnings starting with each of us.

No matter what we all are Indigenous or not like Claudette said we need to make changes in the First Nations Communities we cant go on without or with bad water, our community needs to come together to make a change in this society for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief Seattle said we would “choke in our own waste” if we didn’t respect the Earth. If you look around now, you can see what he said is true. Over the years, I’ve watched the Earth get more and more destroyed by those who do not respect it. This Movement is the best thing to happen in a very long time. Even though I am part Native American, I consider indigenous rights to be part of the rights of all of us who inhabit the Earth.

Each stone in the stream helps the water have a different voice, a unique song . we humans are like that too. Each responding to the current of life in our own way. The river spirit tells me though, we are all the same stream. Each individual bears a personal responsibility for the behavior of the species.

just want to thank all the supporters, and all the key initiators in this movement who keep it alive on a daily basis. I know there are many, and I am happy to visit this site again and see it still bring awareness.
Its a beautiful experience to be associated and involved.
