Henry Boucha and Clyde Bellecourt of the National Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media will meet with the victims and parents of the January 24th racist assault that took place at the Rushmore Civic Center where 57 students from the American Horse School were subjected to racial slurs and had beer poured on them. Boucha and Bellecourt will participate in a press conference regarding racism in sports and media, where they will reiterate the detrimental and dehumanizing effects of Native mascots and detail the rally that will take place outside the Rushmore Civic Center starting at 5:30 p.m. and continuing throughout the Rush hockey game. Henry Boucha and Clyde Bellecourt are available for interviews before and up to the rally.

The National Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media calls on all who condemn racism and child abuse to join in solidarity on February 10th outside the Rushmore Civic Center at 5:30 p.m. to support the victims.


Henry Boucha, (Ojibwe/Northwest Angle Band 37 First Nation) Vice President of the National Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media. Boucha is a retired NHL player, Olympic silver medalist in the 1972 Winter Olympics, and 1995 United States Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee.


Clyde Bellecourt, (White Earth Nation) co-founder of the American Indian Movement and National Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media. Bellecourt has been an advocate and activist for Native American rights.
