Northern Trappers “Holding the Line” in Treaty 8 near LaLoche Saskatchewan – Idle No More

Northern trappers near LaLoche Saskatchewan in the Treaty 8 lands have erected a blockade on highway 955 at 11 a.m. Saturday to stop Cenovus Energy from accessing Indigenous lands. Cenovus Energy has been doing explorations for resources.  Northern trappers have found roads to traditional hunting grounds gated and blocked preventing them from entering. This has been done without their consent nor knowledge.  Let’s support those who have honoured our Mother Earth and respected all she has created through balance and respect.  Exercising our inherency and treaties deserve to be celebrated and encouraged as it has been a way of life on our lands since time immemorial.
