Colten Boushie was a 22-year-old from Red Pheasant Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. In August 2016, Colten was shot multiple times at close range, and killed on a farm while out for a drive with his friends. On Feburary 9th, an all-white jury and judge ruled that Gerald Stanley was acquitted of all charges.

In honor of the late Colten (Coco) Boushie, a day of action has been called. There will be a prayer space set up at Victoria Park this Sunday morning with a sign and some tobacco and sage at the gazebo. It will be pretty low-key, because it frankly feels like everything has already been said: we know white supremacy has led to Colten's death. We know there is no justice for Indigenous people. So maybe it's just time to show up for each other and the family.ies of the people who have been lost to the violence of colonialism; those of us who haven't been taken by racism in every sense of the term. This is meant to be an event of prayer and peace in a time of mourning. Please respect that, and feel welcome to organize a rally in solidarity at another time.

The Boushie family has asked that donations be made to this gofundme, too: https://www.gofundme.com/justice4colten
