Chilliwack in Solidarity with Elsipogtog Community and Allies

Right now Elsipogtog community members and allies are holding ground in their home territory in New Brunswick to defend their land and water from contamination by potential fracking.

Instead of being met with a dignified response, these people are facing intimidation and violence by RCMP, and dozens of arrests of peaceful community members have already been made in the past days.

Since these arrests, numerous communities across Canada have been gathering to demonstrate their solidarity with people who care about the health of their home water, land, and community.

Let's join together here in Sto:lo territory and show that we are witness to the courage, love, and determination being demonstrated by the Elsipogtog and their allies. This is an opportunity for us to stand in solidarity and be part of a growing movement to demand that land, water, and community rights are respected.

Bring your drums and signs.

This is a peaceful demonstration.

Photos will be shared with folks in Elsipogtog to show they are not alone in their struggle.
