ILSA Presents: Colten Boushie - A Panel Discussion


The Indigenous Law Students' Association presents a panel discussion on the ruling in the case of the death of Colten Boushie. (Room TBA)

*** A community gathering space will be available at the law school prior to the event, and will have smudging and Elder/Knowledge Keeper guidance available - room and time TBA *** 

*** Food and drinks will be provided ***

The panel will explore the legal issues at play during the trial, including issues of evidence and jury selection, as well as the case's relationship to the broader criminal justice issues facing Indigenous people in Canada, such as systemic discrimination.

Panelists include:

Kent Roach, Professor & Prichard Wilson Chair in Law and Public Policy - One of Canada's leading scholars in criminal justice issues including Indigenous peoples' relationship with the criminal justice system
