Idle No More Organizers Show Support for Honour the Treaties Tour – Idle No More

Idle No More organizers and supporters led round dances outside several of the Honour the Treaties concerts and helped to gather signatures and donations in support of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation’s (ACFN) legal challenge against the Federal Government and Shell Canada.

The ACFN are actively engaged in a multi-prong legal strategy to challenge public policy, individual tar sands projects and inadequate environmental protection in Alberta’s Athabasca tar sands region. “We will hold the line and challenge all proposals, projects and approvals that impacts the lands, territory and rights that are necessary for our cultural and Treaty rights,” stated Chief Adam.
