Founders Send Message To RCMP “Land Protection Is Not An Offence” – Idle No More

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Support and Alliance for Elsipogtog

 Thursday, November 14, 2013

I and Jessica Gordon have been following the state of circumstances since late June regarding the continually escalating events occurring in Elsipogtog, New Brunswick with the Rcmp raids.  The current state is absolutely unacceptable and it is known that the women and children on site are the core of land, air, and water defenders.  We also know that mainstream media and other sources of isolating native and non-native land defenders, also known as Warrior Societies, have been negatively targeted to create a public perception that they are harmful and dangerous.  This is not so.

I want to publicly state we as founders of Idle No More support all Warriors Societies and War Chiefs, and all land, air, water, defenders.  We acknowledge that the public needs to understand the true nature of these very natural societies and roles as every Indigenous society, including those from other continents had which, were decimated by colonization, for the purpose of securing land and resources.   This is nothing new.

At present we would like to request that all land, air, and water defenders, take a few moments to please, draw up a short personal letter/email each, and send them to the RCMP regarding your concerns that mistreatment won’t take place.

Voice your concerns @ RCMP New Brunswick 1445 Regent Street Fredericton, N.B. E3B 4Z8 506-452-3400 (General Inquiries)

PROTECTION OF LAND, AIR, WATER, IS NOT AN OFFENCE AND THOSE  PROTECTING SHOULD  NOT BE TREATED AS CRIMINALS OR  MISTREATED IN ANYWAY.
