To the First Nations, our brothers and sisters to the North, thank you. Thank you for standing in peaceful defiance. Thank you for respecting our Mother ( in my language Teepu Pea). Your movement, and its principles give me happiness and hope that our generation has not fully assimilated into the Taibo’s (white man’s) world. I am but a single leaf on this massive tree we call Tribe. I cannot offer thousands of dollars, nor can I host major demonstrations, but I can give tobacco on the fire, I will pray for all of you; and, perhaps, give a few dollars! :) Stay strong, you may not know it but the Indigenous are watching you. Aho.

I happened upon an Idle No More inspirational video on youtube, watched it, and began watching related videos. By the fourth one I was crying. I feel so much sadness for our indigenous peoples, but so much love, strength, pride and unity in the fact that we, along with others, are taking a stand against the wrongs being done by our government today! We cannot change what happened 200 years ago, but we can surely make a difference in what happens from here on out! Much love and support for this cause!(:

There is no issue or consideration more important than the future ability of this planet to sustain life. We are on the side of anyone who wants to fight back against the insane, destructive, out of control economic paradigm that is threatening this planet’s future.

I have been involved with the movement since the early days, and have been instrumental in numerous, highly successful, events ranging from border blockades to marches and rallies. As this movement continues to grow, We must remember that is an Indigenous Lead Movement. Some of our allies have been having a tough time with that and a few have even stepped way out of line in that regard. Having said that, I feel that it is great that they wish to be as involved, as they are, with the movement.

    All My Relations.

Idle No More is a grassroots movement of First Nations peoples and ordinary Canadians working together to achieve a better result for aboriginal communities in Canada. It is indicative of the type of movements, causes and campaigns UnpublishedOttawa.com was created to empower.

As an issues based social media website for Canadians (First Nations included) and Ottawa-area residents, UnpublishedOttawa.com encourages individuals and groups to publish and share their opinions and ideas through letters, OpEds, rants (a la Rick Mercer) and Internet comments, with their friends, colleagues and community! Whether you’re a concerned citizen, a prolific writer or just someone with a good idea, you can take advantage of UnpublishedOttawa.com’s publishing and sharing tools to extend the reach of your message and expand the size of your audience.

‘Have Your Say’ by taking advantage of UnpublishedOttawa.com’s tools to amplify your voice and empower the Idle No More movement to bring about the change it seeks for all people living in Canada.

First Nations have been ignored and deprived of power for far too long. It is past time that the Settler culture oppression of the First Nations ends!

I believe so very strongly in the many aspects of Idle No More. As a Canadian, of settler ancestry, it is important to me that Canada honours First Nation People. It’s important to me that we humans, at the top of the food chain, and the power to reason, are not so stupid that we destroy the very source of our nourishment. Join us in protecting & spreading awareness.
