October 7th, marks the signing of the British Royal Proclamation:an historic document that mandated Canada to recognize indigenous land rights. 250 years later on Oct 7, 2013 IDLE NO MORE calls on all peoples to raise (y)our voices and take action in support of OUR LAND, OUR WATER, OUR BODIES, OUR STORIES, OUR FUTURE INDIGENOUS SOVEREIGNTY.
As well October 7, 2013 James Anaya is due to arrive in Canada on behalf of the UN to investigate Canada's record regarding the human rights of Indigenous peoples, in particular the 600 missing/murdered women.
We will also address the tar sands, gas fracking issues as result of the erosion of our Environmental Protection Act that was impacted by the Omnibus bill C45.
