RALLY TO SHOW OPPOSITION TO FN EDUCATION ACT
BLOOD RESERVE, STANDOFF, ALBERTA
February 7. 2014
COME SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AGAINST THE FNEA!
In response to Prime Minister Steven Harper’s visit to the Blood Reserve on Friday February 7, 2014, Blood Tribes members and other First Nations, who oppose the First Nations Education Act, will be there to have an assembly. The Government of Canada will announce its agenda on First Nations Education on Friday at the Kainai Nation in Treaty 7 (Southern Alberta) - Harper will be present to make this announcement. Be prepared for the proposed First Nations Education Act (FNEA) to be introduced as something that was agreed to. The First Nations Education Act changes Treaty rights to education without consultation and does not deal with the unfair funding for First Nations students on reserves.

We are asking for everyone to attend this meeting with Harper in Kainai. This will effect all of us, treaty and non-treaty. We can show Harper that we will not be bought, bullied, or embarrassed by his colonial tactics. We all know that Harper does not respect our treaties or our sovereignty. They are scrambling right now to control this, as the information was not meant to be shared with us. They claimed that keeping the meeting private was out of safety for the students but they shouldn't be having the meeting at our high school. Harper is not well liked by many people.
We are organizing a peaceful protest against Harper and FNEA. This is a critical moment in the fight, and he's walking right into our territory. Please help us stand against this. We will provide you with directions to the school. This is an open invitation to our territory in Kainai/Blood Tribe in Treaty 7, Southern AB.
