We are the Land - Energy and Food Sustainability Conference

Keepers of the Athabasca and partners will be hosting a conference on June 1st and 2nd  in Edmonton, Alberta.  “We are the Land” conference will be a time to gather and discuss progress, issues, concerns and needs of Indigenous Communities in the North, in relation to Food Security, Food Sovereignty and Renewable Energy.  As Renewable Energy is starting to take off, we want to help ensure that Indigenous Communities are provided the information and opportunities to be involved with innovative technologies, as well as any low cost initiatives that may come about. At this time, as the climate changes and our dependency on outsourced food becomes more apparent, there is a great need to reintroduce and revitalize the need for communities to have food and energy security.
